This past Thursday, my sister and I spent some time in Sugar Land Town Square. We attended an event billed as a free fashion show. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was in fact, a ONE WOMAN fashion show . . . something I had never seen before. The event was hosted by Megan of HoneyWereHome.com . Megan is a lawyer turned stay-at-home mom who covers lifestyle, fitness, fashion and mommyhood on her super fun blog.
After purchasing a few raffle tickets to support Dress for Success Houston’s Harvey Relief, we grabbed some wine – compliments of Jupiter – and took our seats. The weather was cool and pleasant, and though it looked a little like rain the energy was great. I met a few new friends before the show even started.
When Megan was introduced, I had no idea she had on so many layers when she walked out. She describes herself as “super petite” in her IG bio but she’s got a big, charming personality. Megan described a few of the items she was wearing, then took off a few layers to reveal even more cute looks underneath. Then I caught on. This was what “one woman fashion show” meant. What a cool idea. Of course, more intricate changes like going from jeans to a dress were made behind the partition set-up on the stage. Since Fall fashion makes use of layering anyway, it was a fun idea. After a while, we in the audience started to try to guess what was coming next. the fashion show featured items from SLTS retailers like Charming Charlie, The Collective, Anything Bling and Altar’d State.
Here were a few of my favorite looks (photos via SLTS Facebook Page):
