30 Day Dairy-free Dare

30 Day Dairy-free Dare

So, I'm lactose intolerant. It's something that has been a part of my life even before I could properly identify it. As a kid, my mom used to have to threaten me just so I would drink my milk. I never liked it. I'd have milk only in cereal . . . and even then [...]

My Pumpkins Are Growing Up

My Pumpkins Are Growing Up

With me being so busy lately, last weekend was the best time I could think of to go to the pumpkin patch. I'd spent a few days shopping around for outfits for the whole family in hopes that we'd get a great family photo with us all together in front of a backdrop of pumpkins. Of course, that did not happen. The reason it didn't, though, turned out to be a great mental snapshot. ⬆️CLICK PIC TO READ MORE⬆️

Why I Use Colored Pens

Why I Use Colored Pens

"Old School" is a phrase I'm very fond of. My choice in music is very old school. While I love Imagine Dragons you can't top Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, Sly and the Family Stone or Maze featuring Frankie Beverly in my opinion. I know. Very "Auntie's Cookout Playlist". Another way I tend to sway old school is in the way I take notes. I've learned that my memory is far more effective when I have written something down by hand. Whether it's a shopping list or client meeting notes, I opt for pen and paper. ⬆️CLICK PIC TO READ MORE⬆️

FUN

FUN

I had an absolutely fun day hanging with a dear friend. We visited The Menil Collection, which was one of my frequent destinations when I lived in the Montrose area of Houston during my college years. We talked about being wives and moms, chasing dreams and living on purpose. The struggles of balancing it all, maintaining healthy relationships and continuing to grow as a person can be a lot. It was helpful for both of us to hear we are not alone in that struggle. That's why we could all stand a bit more fun! ⬆️CLICK PIC TO READ MORE⬆️

Stronger Than Cake

Stronger Than Cake

My Dad's Birthday was a few days ago. My brother did a great job, and gifted Dad a new BBQ pit. Typically Dad is kinda difficult to shop for, he never asks for anything much at all outside of quality family time. Before he knew about the BBQ pit, he'd said that all he really wanted was one of Mom's chocolate cakes. Now, you should know that my family has a bit of a reputation. We have been called "the dessert family". My Mom's peach cobbler has incited stampedes at family and church functions all over the world. Growing up, it was just a thing. Wherever we were, whether living on a joint military base in Mons, Belgium or an Air Force Base in Northern California . . . Mom's duty was cobbler. ⬆️CLICK PIC TO READ MORE⬆️
